Barcombe Bonfire Society has their HQ at the focal point of Barcombe Cross village. That being the Royal Oak pub.
With well kept Harvey’s ales, honest pub food and the novelty of a skittle alley in the function room a visit is highly recommended.
Visit the website https://www.harveys.org.uk/pubs/the-royal-oak/ or contact Daryl and the team on 01273 400418 to arrange a visit with a warm welcome.
The Royal Oak can be found at High Street, Barcombe, BN8 5BA from 12 noon until midnight Monday to Saturday. Until 11pm on Sundays.
Tonight the BBS are at our HQ (The Royal Oak, Barcombe), from 19:30, to have a drink…..and many more.
Please feel free to come up and join us, ask questions about BBS and buy us all a round (jokes).
At Lewes Bonfire Night, for Borough Bonfire Society, the members of the BBS who shook a bucket for charity collection, helped to raise an incredible £1,400 for the Bevern Trust, Families with Autism and St Johns Ambulance. What a difference that will hopefully make to those charities! #proud
Donations to the BBS can now be made online and are always gratefully received!
Please follow the link to donate online.
If you fancy the idea of becoming part of the BBS Committee or want to see what it is like, our committee meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, in our H.Q. pub, The Royal Oak, Barcombe at 8pm.
We would love to have more bodies and brains to keep the BBS going. Please let our secretary, Charlie, know if you are interested.
As many of you are aware, there was no Barcombe Bonfire Night 2016. This was due to lack of man power and funding.
Bonfire nights are a huge part of English and Sussex tradition. But they don’t happen over night. A whole years worth, and more, of fundraising ploughs into the money pot for one very special night. Let alone all the time spent organising and putting on events, making the torches, BBS and crosses etc.. All of our committee members work tirelessly throughout the year to create a night to remember.
If you love Barcombe Bonfire as much as we do, please help as much as you can. We will be happy to teach you the bonfire ropes if you really fancy getting stuck in! Helpful hands are needed all year round.
